Position Overview 

JaRco Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and solutions-oriented  Area Coordinator  to lead and support the effective implementation of Third Party Monitoring (TPM) Activities. This strategic position plays a central role in aligning local activities with national program objectives, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering strong relationships with key regional stakeholders.

The Area Coordinator for TPM activities plays a critical role in supporting the effective implementation, coordination, and monitoring of program activities within the respective assigned region. The role ensures seamless coordination between field monitors, supervisor, implementing stakeholders, and central management, while also supporting administrative, logistical, operational, and data management functions. The Areas Coordinator ensures that program delivery is timely, efficient, and in line with donor and organizational requirements. This role also requires active engagement with government agencies, WFP regional and suboffices and program participants resolve challenges, and strengthen regional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination and Implementation

  • Support day-to-day implementation of TPM activities across the assigned region in alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors and field monitors to ensure timely data collection, verification, and reporting.
  • Liaise regularly with regional stakeholders including government offices, WFP regional and sub-offices, and other partners to ensure smooth execution of monitoring activities.
  • Track program deliverables and ensure that field activities comply with project plans and donor guidelines.
  • Provide comprehensive operational and administrative support to supervisors and field monitors, including logistics, supplies, and coordination needs.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for field missions, regional meetings, training workshops, and review sessions.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary materials and tools for data collection and monitoring at the regional level.
  • Manage and maintain accurate data entry for regional program activities, ensuring data integrity, security, and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit periodic performance reports, summarizing key monitoring findings, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain an organized and accessible filing system for all regional program documents including reports, field notes, photos, and attendance records.
  • Serve as the primary regional liaison with stakeholders including local government officials, WFP focal points, and community representatives.
  • Respond to inquiries from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues or escalating as needed.
  • Promote collaboration and trust between field teams, local authorities, and program beneficiaries.
  • Assist in the preparation of regional-level budgets and financial forecasts based on planned activities and logistical requirements.
  • Track expenditures related to field operations and ensure compliance with approved budgets and financial procedures.
  • Monitor field activity implementation and flag delays or challenges to the TPM Team Lead.
  • Conduct regular field visits to supervise monitors, assess the quality of data collected, and ensure adherence to ethical and methodological standards.
  • Support quality assurance mechanisms during field data collection, including spot-checks, back-checks, and observation.

Required Profile 

Competencies

  • Proven ability to plan, manage, and support effective delivery of regional program activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Strong organizational skills to oversee event logistics, administrative tasks, and resource coordination at the regional level.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records, ensuring data integrity, and producing timely, insightful reports on program performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with government partners, institutions, and program participants, while addressing inquiries professionally.
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic environments, respond to challenges with practical solutions, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in program coordination, field operations, or regional-level implementation within the development, humanitarian, or public sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity at the regional or field level.
  • Proven experience coordinating with government institutions, academic organizations, or donor-funded programs is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of data collection protocols, field supervision, and quality control processes.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and local languages of the region assigned.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry platforms (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox).
