LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa. 

Job Purpose

We are looking for a skilled HR and Admin Manager to oversee all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes within our consultancy firm.  

He/she will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives by providing all rounded HR and Admin management services including but not limited to promoting corporate values and enabling business success through design and communication of HR and related policy manuals, job design, in-house recruitments, performance management/ evaluations, training & development, and overall talent management.

 She/He is also responsible for administrative and operational duties, IT oversight and vendor management.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Coordinate all company’s efforts related to recruitment, onboarding, and termination of full-time, part-time, and temporary employees
  • Manage employee attendance and leave
  • Develop, implement and manage staff performance and professional development plan that aligns with the company’s mission, vision, and objectives and drives high performance
  • Nurture a positive working environment and define employee relations practices necessary to promote a high level of employee morale, engagement, and motivation
  • Handle any grievance and court cases as and when they occur
  • Create and maintain master HR files; ensure paperwork is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements and company needs
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Oversees and advise on employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Coordinate and manage the external and internal correspondences from Human Resource and Administration department
  • Ensure that appropriate insurance has been procured and all staff are insured timely
  • Manage all service provider, client and employment contracts
  • Plan, direct and coordinate administrative functions of the organization
  • Oversee procurement activities including procurement planning, evaluating suppliers, goods and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality
  • Ensure effective office management including facilities, internet and communications, office supplies, administrative procedures, inventory control, and office staff supervision
  • Ensure high quality logistical services and implement systems to ensure efficient allocation and utilization of supplies, facilities and transport services
  • Undertake other activities as delegated by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Key Skills/Experience Required

  • BA/MA degree in Law, Human Resources or related field and 7 years and above work experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian Labor laws and legal requirements
  • Language proficiency in English and Amharic
  • Proven knowledge and experience applying HR management principles
  • Excellent computer and communication skills

Competencies Required

  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR executive
  • People oriented and result driven
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
  • Proven experience of handling court cases
  • Knowledge of working with Associations and Labor and Social Affairs offices
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
