Gebeya and its Consortium partners are working on a multi-phase, five-year program to create, support, and nurture 100 multi-sided Gig and Professional Marketplaces (GPMs) in Ethiopia. This program is expected to create opportunities for 1 million highly skilled workers in five years with a focus on women and disadvantaged young people. It will also create entrepreneurship opportunities for 100 entrepreneurs to set up and operate GPMs.

About Job

The Regional Project Manager will closely work with the Program Director to manage the implementation of the project in multiple regions of Ethiopia and ensure its successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. In addition, the Regional Project Manager will supervise 7+ regional coordinators, to ensure effective communication, coordination, and cooperation among all stakeholders involved.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a project plan for each region, in line with the overall project plan and goals.
• Monitor project progress and performance in each region, and take corrective action where necessary.
• Ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with best practices and standards, and that they are aligned with the overall project goals and objectives.
• Foster close working relationships with regional coordinators and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
• Ensure that all project activities are properly documented and reported, and that the necessary data is collected and analyzed to support decision-making.
• Manage the project budget and resources, and ensure that they are used effectively and efficiently.
• Identify and mitigate risks to the project, and take action to resolve issues and challenges as they arise.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
• Perform other activities as assigned by supervisor

Person Specifications

Academic Qualifications :   Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as project management, international development, or a related field.

Experience :   At least 5+ years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in the international development sector.
