Introduction

Lifewater International is a not-for-profit International Development Organization (INGO) that was founded in California, USA in 1977. Today Lifewater has operations in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and Cambodia. Lifewater provides access to safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene or WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) its unique strategy called Vision for Healthy Village.

Within Ethiopia, Lifewater International is reaching the most vulnerable underserved communities in Oromia region in West Arsi Zone (three programs in three districts, namely, Dodola, Kokosa and Nensebo), and in Sidama region in Bensa district. All four districts are adjacent to each other. In addition, Lifewater has a Country office in Hawassa and a global Headquarter office in Addis Ababa.

Objectives

Lifewater seeks to provide a lifegiving culture for all employees. One way to accomplish this is through ensuring that employees are paid fairly . Lifewater is currently seeking a peer group and country/regional salary and benefits survey for positions based in Ethiopia.

Scope of the work

• Provide total compensation survey on a sampling of comparable positions within Lifewater’s per group.
• Review of current Lifewater Ethiopia salary and benefit packages
• Data specific to Ethiopia, and specific to the districts that we operate in.
• Market data from similar sized INGO organizations; prefer at least some Christian organization included.
• Include total compensation.  
• Base Salary
• Fixed Cash Allowances and bonuses
• Data on variable or performance-based bonuses.
• Data on benefits offered including value.
• Would like information on relocation packages if available

Methodologies and technical approach

• The survey should provide a comparison of total compensation among comparable jobs from peer and regional organizations. The selected consultant will work with the internal team to determine the appropriate peer institutions.  
• The term of engagement shall commence as soon as the award is determined. It is anticipated that the work would be completed by 31 May, 2023 at the latest.

• Financial proposal indicating the cost rates and other charges applicable.

Expected Deliverables and Payments:  

Payments will be processed upon acceptance of the corresponding deliverable, submitted monthly reports and against an invoice that will make reference to the contract reference and deliverable number. Payments will be approved by the Country Director in Hawasa Country Office.
