Job Description
Afriflower PLC is engaged in the flower production and export business with 74 hectares of land at Holeta.
We would like to hire a Senior Accountant who is punctual, a good communicator, and a team player for our head office located in Addis Ababa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger
- Provide technical support and advice to the Operation and Finance Manager
- Issuing invoice to the customers based of the delivery note and collecting the money and timely deposit to the bank
- Manage Junior Accountants
- Participate in financial forecast process
- Prepare deposition and other staff indemnity account on time base
- Handle and manage month/quarterly tax filing and proper settlements in due time (Declaring on the ERCA system)
- Support month-end and year-end closing process
- Ensures that books of accounts are maintained, check, receipts and other financial documents are kept properly and that they are safeguarded against misuse;
- Preparing Payroll sheet
- Follows up that taxes, insurance payments and collection are handled on time;
- Ensures that all cash collected is deposited daily in the bank;
- Ensures that required financial information is made available to internal and external auditors;
Weekly working hours;
- 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, Lunch break 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
- 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday. (Half day)
The company has zero tolerance related to tardiness/lateness.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and experience required
- 5 years for a B.A. Degree, 6 years for a diploma in Accounting and Finance
- Excellent knowledge of Peachtree, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Experience in the horticulture/floriculture business sector is preferable.
