- SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, supervises and controls activities of Regional and Branch audit activities;
- Develops and performs audit program according to the audit assignment and checklists;
- Prepares annual audit plan of the Regional Office & implements after approval by the Internal Audit Service Manager;
- Reviews and appraises the internal control system, accuracy and effectiveness of accounting, financial, human resource and other operating activities of the Regional Office and Branches and forwards recommendations.
- Conducts pre-audit activities as and when deemed necessary.
- Conducts surprise cash checking on hand and property and operational policy and procedure audits on the Branches.
- Verifies on sample basis that collections by the Branches from savings, loans, remittances and other sources are properly handled per operational policy and procedure of VF MFI;
- Conducts audit on sample basis to ensure that loans are disbursed, registered and collected by Branches in line with the policies and procedures of the Company;
- Conducts sample audit that all payments are handled by the Regional Office based on the approved plan and budget and the approval of the designated personnel and within the discretionary limits;
- Reviews and updates the audit procedure exercised by Branch audit staff and follows up its implementation;
- Checks the implementation of auditors’ recommendations and report deviations;
- Supervises, supports, trains, and coaches the Area Internal Auditors;
- Completes all performance management activities including: performance planning, monitoring, annual performance appraisals of Area Internal Auditors;
- Reports audit findings and discrepancies of operational activities to the Manager, Internal Audit Service and to the Regional Operation Office as necessary;
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
A.EDUCATION/TRAINING
- BA Degree in Accounting.
B EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
- TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
- Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity
- Proficient in Micro Soft office applications
- Preferably proficient in Sun Accounts, eMerge, TMS or other relevant accounting software
- Proficiency in written communication and report writing.
- Ability to work effectively with others at all levels
