JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Location:Addis Abeba, Jakros
Reports to: Plant Manager
Responsible for: Production Team
The production supervisor oversees the production/assembly process to ensure it runs effectively and efficiently. Carefully observing how employees structure their workflows and utilizing Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies and metrics to ensure production aligns with required standards.
Key Responsibilities
➢ Team Management : Supervise, coach, and train production staff to meet performance, quality, and safety standards. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires. Create training plans, provide ongoing coaching, and identify development opportunities to boost skills and efficiency.
➢ Policy Enforcement and Compliance : Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's established attendance and leave policies and procedures, as well as relevant labor laws and regulations.
➢ Performance Management and Discipline: Coaching, counseling, and, when necessary, disciplining employees for attendance issues or non-compliance with policies.
➢ Production Planning and Inventory Management : Coordinate with production planners to develop schedules, ensure raw materials availability, and communicate the schedule. Ensuring the inventory management system is being utilized correctly and accurately. Coordinating material flow, managing inventory, ensuring efficient production, and overseeing final product preparation and dispatch.
➢ KPI Tracking : Tracking production Key Performance indicators like OEE, TEEP (Availability, Performance, Quality, and Utilization).
➢ Motivation & Conflict Resolution : Address employee disputes, remove obstacles, and motivate the team to maintain high morale and productivity.
➢ Problem Solving : Proactively identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis (Five Whys, Cause and Effect analysis, FMEA, FMECA, etc.). Finally, implement corrective actions.
➢ Quality Assurance, Safety and GMP : Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and professional standards are followed. Standardize the GMP process (Safety, 5S, quality measures testing are clearly defined, validated, reviewed, and documented).
➢ Maintenance and Operations: Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance (Following the types of maintenance) and track MTBF, MTTR, and PMP.
➢ Continuous Improvement: Update KPIs in performance management boards and promote continuous improvement initiatives like Lean, 5S, Kaizen, GMP, Safety, etc.
Requirements & Qualifications
Common Requirements
Education : A Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical engineering or related field of engineering.
Experience : A minimum of two years of experience working as an Electromechanical/Electrical/ engineer.
Skills : Technical expertise, Strong leadership, Problem-Solving, Team management, Effective communication, Conflict resolution, and decision-making are essential.
Knowledge : Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology and metrics, Supply chain management, GMP, etc.
