Key Purpose Statement
To ensure the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of production equipment and electrical systems through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, automation support, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with SHEQ standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, automation, sensor, motor, and control system failures to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to approved schedules, work orders, and quality standards.
- Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including equipment reliability, maintenance compliance, downtime reduction, and labor utilization.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase networks, motors, star-delta starters, and forward/reverse control circuits.
- Ensure proper commissioning, testing, and handover of equipment following maintenance or modification activities.
- Manage electrical assets, spare parts, and maintenance resources to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, work orders, and technical documentation.
- Coach and develop Operators and Line Electricians in autonomous maintenance, troubleshooting, and asset care practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, process optimization, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, electrical safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, and promote safe working practices across all maintenance activities.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure safe operation of electrical equipment, panels, and work areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- First Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills
- Strong maintenance management and troubleshooting skills.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving capability.
- Sound knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
- Asset management and equipment reliability expertise.
- Strong knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
- Understanding of industrial automation and manufacturing machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial sensors and instrumentation systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical motors, operation, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of motor control circuits, including forward and reverse controls.
- Understanding of star-delta motor starters and their control mechanisms.
- Strong knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
