Current Telecom Service Engagements

Scope

Safaricom Ethiopia – Afdera–Mekelle Fiber Maintenance

Approximately 230 km of fiber infrastructure, including fault identification, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, restoration, emergency response, inspection and operational monitoring.

Huawei Technologies – Field Maintenance Service

Five Tigray clusters: Mekelle, Abala, Maichew–Alamata, Adigrat and Axum, covering field maintenance (active, passive and Optical fiber) and technical support across the respective service areas.

These service engagements require technically competent, safety-conscious and field-oriented personnel who can respond quickly to faults, maintain accurate technical records, coordinate with clients and NOC/operations teams, and uphold Passion Technologies’ standards for quality, safety, compliance and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise field maintenance and telecom infrastructure teams within assigned cluster(s) or project areas.

• Plan and coordinate daily field activities, manpower, vehicles, tools, materials and logistics.

• Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance progress and ensure timely fault restoration.

• Coordinate with Huawei/client representatives, NOC teams, project managers and other stakeholders.

• Conduct quality inspections and verify compliance with technical specifications and service requirements.

• Enforce HSEQ procedures, permit requirements, PPE use and safe work practices.

• Prepare daily, weekly and incident/fault reports and maintain accurate operational records.

• Track team productivity, response times, work completion and outstanding faults.

• Escalate critical technical, safety, logistics and client-service issues promptly.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in telecom field supervision, maintenance coordination or project site management.

• Practical knowledge of telecom maintenance, site operations, QA/QC, HSEQ and field team coordination.

• Strong leadership, planning, reporting, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple sites and teams under demanding field conditions.

• Willingness to travel and work in the five Tigray service clusters as required.

• Safety-related certification and telecom HSEQ knowledge are preferred.
