Main responsibilities
- Gather background information, review prior audit reports, and help define the scope and objectives for upcoming audits
- Perform specific tests and procedures, including reviewing financial records, interviewing staff, observing processes, and assessing internal control systems
- Prepare detailed working papers documenting audit procedures, evidence collected, and testing results
- Identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and non-compliance issues, drafting clear descriptions of findings with a focus on risk areas
- Assist in preparing audit reports by summarizing findings and contributing to actionable recommendations
- Verify adherence to internal policies, procedures, and internal control standards, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
