Main responsibilities
- Compact subgrade, base courses, and asphalt layers to the required density and finish
- Use the correct roller type, passes, speed, and pattern as instructed
- Work behind the paver and keep proper timing and temperature for asphalt compaction
- Avoid surface damage, roller marks, and uneven joints
- Excavate, load, and move material to the required lines, levels, and depths
- Dig ditches, drains, culvert trenches, and foundations
