Organization: American Chamber of Commerce Ethiopia
Position: Policy Analyst Job Summary: We are seeking a well-informed policy analyst to ensure that AmCham Ethiopia member companies are kept up to date with ongoing policy and regulatory activities in Ethiopia. The policy analyst will review areas of policy interest from the Board, members and AmCham management. He/she will attend relevant conferences sponsored by Government offices, development partners and the private sector to facilitate information gathering. The policy analyst will also recommend appropriate engagements with these parties to deepen policy insights. Deliverables will include regular and structured policy reports for members, specific insights as requested by the board and senior management, and episodic presentations on behalf of the organization. Responsibilities for Policy Analyst • Review and evaluate legislation and policies • Assess the relevance of regulations and policies for members. • Propose suggestions to improve the effects of policies on the Board. • Liaise with stakeholders to determine needs and goals of policies. • Analyze market trends and conditions. • Provide regular briefings to members. • Attend policy and regulatory events and meetings. • Support policy events the AmCham sponsoring through detailed research and insights before the event, support during the event, and assessments after the event APPLICATION PROCEDURE: If you are interested, please send your application composed of nonreturnable CV, a Covering Letter with “Training Facilitator” written in the subject line, and three references, apply to the following addresses: [email protected] Application deadline is March 11th, 2023. |

Qualifications for Policy Analyst
• Master's degree in a related field preferred • 2-3 years of experience in researching policies. • Demonstrated academic and/or employment experience research policies and drafting policy reports. • Experience in preparing reports and presenting findings. • Excellent communication skills. • Excellent understanding of the relevant industry and market conditions • High organizational and time-management skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Good interpersonal and social skills Language Fluent in Amharic and English |
