Job Description

KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Warranty Controller position:

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that vehicle warranty policy and procedures are in place, and administer process and authorize warranty claims, based on the manufacturer/supplier’s criteria; responsible for processing exceptional or contentious claims; work closely with the bodywork and After-sales department; and provide warranty related advice to all concerned work units and the staff.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow Warranty Company and ISUZU guarantee policy and procedures to handle warranty claims and issues.
  • Administer processes and authorize warranty claims as per company policy and procedures that must be derived from relevant ISUZU manual procedure.
  • Prepare warranty booklet and guarantee certificate for handing over to customers during the delivery of vehicles.
  • Explain to customers about the warranty details along with its benefits to assure them about the future warranty repairs.
  • Monitor that warranty repairs are performed by following the procedures specified by ISUZU and the Service department.
  • Provide product quality information to customers so that they can make proper follow-up on the vehicle performance, and report on any required repair and maintenance as per company policy and procedures.
  • Provide detailed analysis to enable warrant cost reduction activities.
  • Review the warranty claims; understand the volumes and trends of issues, and what contributes to them; and analyze the data to understand what corrective actions need to be taken for minimizing warranty related costs.
  • Identify and coordinate improvement activities aimed at warranty cost reduction, and implement warranty cost recovery from the supply chain.
  • Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support.
  • Provide and manage a framework for the warranty returns, and customer concerns.
  • Advise management on budgetary preparation for future warranty spending.
  • Keep up to date on current manufacturing and engineering trends.
  • Maintain warranty claim related database and records for future reference.
  • Prepare reports for the submission to the Vehicles sales supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.

Job Requirements

Required Number           :  1(One)

Qualification                    :  BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Work Experience            :  6 years in relevant role

Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skill and communication skill (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent Product (vehicles) knowledge
  • Vehicle’s manufacturer specification knowledge
  • Customer service orientation
