Population Health and Environment – Ethiopia Consortium (PHE EC) is hiring a Finance Officer in Afambo or Amibara Field Office, Afar Region. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or accounting and finance, 3 to 5 years of experience, and is onsite full time. Applications close on 16 November 2026.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, or a related field
- Sound knowledge of Ethiopian financial regulations, taxation, and financial reporting requirements
- Experience in financial management and reporting for donor-funded projects
Nice to have
- At least three years of relevant professional experience , preferably with NGOs or donor-funded projects
Main responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries and cash and bank transactions.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documents, and filing systems.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including payroll taxes and withholding taxes.
- Review and verify payments, procurement documents, and supporting financial documentation.
