GeezJobs is recruiting a General Accounts Head for a confidential employer in Addis Ababa. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance and at least five years of experience. Applications close on 13 November 2026.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with proven experience in supervising and leading an accounting team.
- ERP-based accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and system management.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS.
Nice to have
- A relevant professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.
Main responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including financial transactions, general ledger management, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and prepare accurate financial statements, cash flow reports, and management reports.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze budgets and variances, and provide financial insights to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IFRS standards, Ethiopian tax regulations, and internal financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee tax calculations, tax filings, audit preparations, and the timely resolution of audit findings.
- Monitor inventory, fixed assets, rental income, project costs, and other financial activities, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
