Requirements
- Four to five years of relevant professional experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial transaction management
- Practical experience in general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Ethiopian tax requirements and statutory accounting obligations
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree/Sage, SAP, or other comparable accounting systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
Main responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
- Record daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Process supplier invoices, payment requests, staff reimbursements, and other payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable balances and follow up on outstanding items.
- Verify invoices and payment requests against supporting documents and applicable approval procedures.
