Requirements

• Four to five years of relevant professional experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial transaction management
• Practical experience in general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of Ethiopian tax requirements and statutory accounting obligations
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree/Sage, SAP, or other comparable accounting systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications

Main responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
• Record daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Process supplier invoices, payment requests, staff reimbursements, and other payable transactions.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable balances and follow up on outstanding items.
• Verify invoices and payment requests against supporting documents and applicable approval procedures.
