Through the process, we have learnt that apprenticeships program is a proven way to promote the smooth transitions from school to work. It is also the best way to acquire core employability skills is on the job. In addition, it has an experience of facilitating and encouraging target groups to form village savings and loan associations (VSLA).

Job Summary of the Garment Trainer;

The Garment Trainer will work under the direct supervision and general guidance of the Program Manger of Game Changers Consulting PLC. His/her main responsibility will be to facilitate Game Changers Consulting PLC day-to-day production center and training center functions with the aim of increasing income generating activities and organizes details of all activities related with Garment and Fashion design production and training center. He/she will coordinate all arrangements and ensures the smooth functioning of the activities related with income generating activities (IGAs) and resource mobilization in the training and production center. He/she will also be responsible for Facilitate trainees apprenticeship program and Facilitate life skills/soft skills training.

 Roles and responsibilities;

• Responsible  for the  planning, management and oversight of all aspects related to the training and production center.
• Provide market relevant garment and fashion design technical skill training for trainees, Curriculum development and training material development.
• Coordinate and manage the overall production and training center day to day activities
• Facilitate the job linkage and entrepreneurship activities of trainees
• Facilitating and providing apprenticeship training 
• Assist the program manager in  exploring and developing strategies for long-term sustainability of the training center and its area of operation.
• Facilitate business to business (B2B) linkage
• Facilitate life skills/soft skills training
• Facilitate business development support (BDS)
• Support the fundraising and marketing functions of the organization with the aim of increasing income generating activities.
• Assure weather the project is well-Organized and runs smoothly;
• Develop quality and timely report; 
• Experience and knowledge on how to manage young people

Duty station:- Bahir dar;  Game Changers Vocational Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Development Center

Required number of trainers: 1 (One)

• Minimum of  BSC Degree in Garment Engineering / BA Degree in Garment Technology.
• Minimum of  5 years teaching experience in TVET College. 
• Must have a COC certificate in the garment field of study.
• Experience in apprenticeships, coaching, mentoring, and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in supporting and coaching of adolescent and youth
•  Experience on job matching and placement 
• Strong linkage with private sector organizations
• Experience on provision of job searching skills training 
• Experience on delivering behavioural change training programs
• Understand the Ethiopian TVET Strategy very well
